Dreaming of Summer? Prep Your Lawn!
Updated: Feb 21, 2019
Ah - Summer! The time of year to enjoy evenings in the backyard with family and friends surrounding the fire pit. The thought if it is so inviting, but then you remember the current state of your lawn... To help you get started, here are 5 ways to prep your lawn.

1. Seed
Adding some new grass to your lawn will give it a full, healthy look:
Rake your yard > Add Topsoil > Seed > Spread Fertilizer > Sprinkle Topsoil
2. Test your soil
Grass, like any living thing, needs appropriate levels of minerals and nutrients. Have your soil tested to see if there are any deficiencies.
3. Aerate your yard
This breaks up hard-packed soil and allows nutrients to sink down, allowing better absorption at the roots.
For the best results, consider hiring a pro! Homestar was built on landscaping, so we have the experience and the reputation for all of your landscaping and maintenance needs.
4. Exterminate Pests
Those pesky pests can really cause some damage to your yard. Give us a call at Homestar to properly take care of Japanese beetles, ants, and more.
5. Water
Not too little, and not too much! New grass should be watered on a daily basis for 10-14 days. Other than that, water your grass deeply once a week and that will keep it healthy!
